Phase 1 consisted of a new medical office building for lease to private practices in the NW Hospital area, and a 7,575-SF Ambulatory Surgery Center affiliated with the hospital. Phase 2 consisted of a second building situated in front of the Phase 1 facility. BFL completed the shell for that building.

This state-of-the art facility contains 70 exam rooms, a same-day clinic, a full service pharmacy, an imaging suite, laboratory and phlebotomy areas, a group demonstration kitchen, a medical records office, a sandwich bar, and several community group rooms. It was built using LEED Silver guidelines, and obtained LEED Gold certification.

The partnership between Ventana (now a Roche company) and BFL began with the initial construction of their headquarters campus in Oro Valley. This Phase 1 project consisted of three buildings using an award-winning tilt-up design. Phase 2 consisted of an addition to Building 2, and the construction of Buildings 4 and 5. This campus complex includes manufacturing areas, chemical storage rooms, a cleanroom, formulation rooms, laboratories, administrative offices, conference rooms, a cafeteria, warehouse space, and training rooms. After these two phases were complete, BFL continued to work with Ventana for over a decade on more than 20 additions, renovations, remodels, and site work projects.

BFL specializes in performing tenant improvements at healthcare facilities without disrupting nearby medical activities. For the GI Lab/Endoscopy project the challenge was to maintain the construction schedule for demolition and remodeling despite nearby sensitive operations.

This project is a five-story new construction expansion to the main hospital, performed as a joint venture between BFL Construction and Sundt Construction. It includes a Women's Center, Inpatient Services, Ancillary Services, a Neurological Inpatient Care Unit,Physical Plant Services, and a three-level, 765-space parking garage. The five-story bed tower added 167 new hospital beds for the City of Tucson.

BFL has completed numerous new construction, improvement, and expansion projects for El Rio Community Health Center in Tucson. The Cherrybell Clinic – the 14th El Rio clinic in the city – opened in early 2019. This design/build project was constructed using an innovative insulated metal panel design. It also features four, two-sided light monitors on the roof to bring plenty of natural light into the building. The clinic houses offices, exam rooms, dental services, behavioral health and psychiatry services, a laboratory, radiology services, a pharmacy, a transgender care department, and an HIV/AIDS care department.
