Forty-seven years ago, BFL Construction Co. started as a specialist in tenant improvement projects. Over the years, we have become skilled in a wide range of construction categories. While the construction of healthcare and biomedical facilities has become a specialty of ours, we have always been responsive to the changing construction market as Arizona continues to grow.
Our approach and processes have evolved with the industry to include the latest in technology, best practices, sustainable building approaches, and development strategies. Today we offer expertise in commercial, industrial, institutional, educational, military, and medical construction unmatched in Arizona.
In 2006, BFL built its first multi-family apartment complex, Finisterra Luxury Rentals in Tucson. This 300-unit, Class-A, HUD-financed project represented the launch of BFL’s multi-family division, now called BFL Builders. Since then, BFL Builders has constructed over 3,000 units, with several thousand more in the pipeline.
In 2012, BFL partnered with Aerie Development to create the Avilla product, an innovative rental home concept that created a new market niche in the U.S. Avilla offers gated communities of single-family rental homes with individual yards, deluxe amenities, and the convenience of on site property management. This “Build-to-Rent” model was introduced in Tucson and has since expanded to Phoenix and the rest of the country through the development firm NexMetro Communities.
While remaining the premier construction company for Avilla, today BFL Builders is also constructing mid- and high-rise multi-family projects in Arizona such as Aspire Fillmore, an 18-story mixed-use and apartment building in downtown Phoenix.
